Q: Who is a MyCapital?+
A: MyCapital is an investor that is seeking exposure to produce-based investments and understands the nature and risks attached to such investments.
Q: Is there a restriction on who can invest? +
A: Yes, only investors who are classified as sophisticated or accredited investors in their country of residence/operation and are not required to receive a disclosure document in relation to the produce-based investments.
Q: What are the investors investing in? +
A: Investors are investing in the end produce and at a minimum the investors will have a sole equitable interest in the produce equivalent to their investment amount.
Q: Who is a MyCropper? +
A: A MyCropper can either be a solo farmer or a farming association (MyCollective) who are looking for alternative financing to fund their agricultural ventures.
Q: Who is a MyCollective? +
A: A MyCollective is an association, cooperative or group of farmers. The MyCollective can register on mycrop.capital and act on behalf of farmers in relation to their funding needs. The MyCollective can list the individual funding requirement of each farmer separately and act as the interface between the farmers and investors.
Q: How can a MyCropper apply for funding? +
A: The MyCropper will need to register on mycrop.capital and submit their project details. Once approved, their project will go live as an EOI.
Q: What kind of produce-based projects that can be listed on mycrop.capital? +
A: Mycrop.capital covers grains, crops, livestock and aquacultural projects with a preferred harvest time of 12 months or less.
Q: Is there an all or nothing funding requirement? +
A: A produce-based project needs to receive a minimum funding commitment (generally at least 70% of the overall funding) before a funding call is made to investors who submitted their EOI. If the minimum funding commitment is not reached, the project will be considered as unsuccessful.
Q: What is the minimum investment amount?+
A: Investors will need to commit to at least one lot per project. The value of the lot differs from project to project. Please check the projects on our platform for specific details.
Q: How long does it take to get the investment returns? +
A: The timing of the returns is based on the harvesting cycle of the produce. The returns will be paid on the produce is harvested and a sale has been secured by the MyCropper.
Q: Can an investor redeem their investment early? +
A: No, the investment term is tied to the harvesting cycle of the produce and subsequent sale.
Q:What happen if a farming project fails? +
A: Produce-based investments carry high risks due to the nature of the produce and associated factors. If a produce-based project fails, this will result in a loss of investment for the investors.
